Design Changes the Way We See.
The same thing can feel completely different depending on how it is presented.
It can be made easier to understand.
Or harder.
It can draw us closer.
Or push us away.
Design can make someone feel good.
And sometimes, without us realizing it, it can leave someone behind.
Design has the power to change the way we see things.
That is why, for us, design is about more than making things look beautiful.
What do we show?
How do we show it?
And how will it make someone feel?
Thinking about what happens on the other side of design is part of what we do.
DESIGN FOR A GENTLER SOCIETY
At Piece of CAKE, we believe design can help make society a little gentler.
Making information easier to reach and understand.
Helping people discover something they had never noticed before.
Making something complicated a little clearer.
Creating a little more understanding between people.
We believe even small changes like these can begin with design.
We cannot change everything at once.
But each thing we make can change the way someone sees, understands, or feels about something.
And if those small changes add up to a society that feels a little gentler than it does today, that would mean something to us.
That is why we design.
Thinking Together, from the Very Beginning.
“I want to start something new.”
“I want to build a brand.”
“I want more people to see what makes our company or community special.”
Our work begins when the answers are still unclear.
We don’t start with the assumption that you need a website or a logo.
What do you want to do?
What are you trying to solve?
Who do you want to reach?
Where do you want to go from here?
First, we talk.
Then we think and make sense of things together.
From there, what is truly needed begins to emerge.
It might be a website.
It might be a logo.
It might be a film.
Or perhaps, before making anything at all, we need to find the words to describe who you are.
Before deciding what to make, we think about why we are making it.
Then, one by one, we give those ideas form.
Design for Becoming
Designing not for completion, but for change.
Companies, businesses, and brands are never truly finished.
They meet people, connect with society, and gradually change with the times.
We believe that change is also part of design.
That is why our work does not end when something is made.
We are there when something begins.
And we stay involved as it grows.
When the time comes, we talk again.
We think again.
And we make again.
From design for making things,
to design for becoming.
That is what we mean by
Design for Becoming.
